When you connect the projector cable to your Lenovo, the screen becomes smaller (you lose about an inch on all sides – it becomes black in that space). This occurs because the computer is trying to work with the lowest common denominator, in this case the projector. The projector’s resolution is not as high as your computer screen’s resolution. This is the reason why you see a much smaller screen on the computer’s monitor after you have connected the projector cable to it.
Solution:
· After you connect the projector cable to your Lenovo, the screen will become smaller. A few moments later, a small notification window will appear on your screen stating that “This is not the optimal resolution, 1366 x 768 is the optimal resolution . Ignore it or close it. Open the Search Tool. Type in, “Display Settings.” Select “Display Settings.” The “Customize your display” window should appear
· Look beneath the word “Resolution” and there should be a bar. Click and hold the blue portion of the bar and drag it all the way to the right side of the bar, until it reads 1366 x 768.
· Select “Apply.”
· Select “Keep Changes.”
· You can return to your Start Menu. You should notice that you have a full screen.
Note: The steps I have stated above worked on every projector so far…except mine. Go figure? I think its because I have an old projector and the ones I have changed are much newer.
